IT'S BLOODY HOT IN HERE (no, really. it's seriously hot.)
it's the summer holidays! a perfect time to travel, relax, spend time with loved ones and bask in the sun. the wizarding world is lively with energy at this time of year. everyone seems to want to make the most of their break before september comes around the corner and life returns to its normal, mundane pace. it has been especially exciting with the sporadic and strange appearances of old and new faces. some claim to be from a different world while others claim to be from a different time. then, there are the ones who have simply found themselves waking up to be remarkably younger or older. just remember to keep to your curfews, half-bloods and muggle-borns! those eerie disappearances are still happening in an increasingly alarming rate...
MINISTRY OF MAGIC
for the ones who don't have the good fortune of going on holiday, you won't have to worry about having nothing to do, especially if you're part of the ministry of magic! with all the anomalies happening, you're going to have your hands full registering, documenting, interviewing and/or helping with a multitude of busywork relating to the newcomers. or maybe your job doesn't have anything to do with that. maybe you're on the opposite end and you've been brought in. or maybe you're just a tourist and you want to see if you can catch a glimpse of the minister for magic. whatever your reason is, welcome and stay out of people's way!
DIAGON ALLEY
everyone loves to go shopping and what better place to do it than diagon alley? you'll find mills of people looking at all the different items on sale or on display in store windows. maybe you're here to purchase materials for the upcoming school year or you're out on a date with your significant other. or maybe you actually own or work at one of the many shops here. whatever your reason is, you better be ready for the crowd and the heat.
KNOCKTURN ALLEY
oh no! what are you doing here? turn back right now! knockturn alley is no place for you to be. well, at least it isn't if you aren't a dark arts practitioner or you're not part of some nefarious secret group. just turn around and go back to diagon alley. it's much nicer there, friendlier and safer. have you not heard about all the disappearances going on? you're only asking for trouble stepping into a place like this, even if it's remarkably cool here.

not in the mood to go out? or maybe you're stuck in the waiting room at st. mungo's trying to figure out why you're suddenly 10 years older and you need a distraction. disregarding the reason, it's sure a good thing you've conveniently brought along your m.i.a.v.i. so feel free to browse the public network, create your own post, or private message someone!

not interested in any of the options above? feel free to make up your own! the wizarding world is huge, so get creative with it. the setting is the summer of 1980. have fun testing out and shaping your characters, mingle with others, and start getting those crs down!
[ he doesn't bother responding, since.. well, obviously. instead, he tucks away the pen and little notebook, making his way out toward diagon alley.
when she reaches gringotts, he's perched on the steps off to the side, cigarette hanging from his mouth, ignoring the admiring glances of passersby with the ease of long practice. he and his siblings have always been striking, after all, and they'd all learned how to deal with it in their own ways growing up.
when he spots her through the crowd, he rises to his feet, dusting himself off and lifting a hand in a wave. ]
[It's easy enough to get to Gringotts, she'd just been finishing up a bite to eat at the Leaky Cauldron- and she didn't want to leave her little brother waiting for her by himself. Her little brother that...
Looks a lot older now.
Victoire nearly misses a step when she sees him, but she keeps on weaving her way over to him until they're face to face.]
You look much older than I last saw you, Louis!
[She's laughing because how else do you handle seeing who should be your 13 yr old brother, but is instead older than you?]
[ when she gets closer, he squints, giving her a once-over in disbelief. okay, she's.. younger. things are getting weirder and weirder, even by magical standards.
still, he flicks the cigarette away, flinging an arm around her and pulling her in for a quick, fierce hug. ]
I suppose now you're my younger sister. [ he presses a quick kiss to her temple. ] .. I don't know what we're going to do, Victoire. Should we try the Burrow?
[Though he's older, the hug is the same. Victoire returns the hug tightly, laughing as she pulls away and he kisses her temple. If he had been as young as she knew him to be, that would have been her.]
I'm just glad I wasn't leaving a 13 year old waiting by himself in front of Gringotts. [Her smile fades a little, however, and she nods her head.] I was assured that it wouldn't hurt to check where we know there's family. The Burrow would be our best chance at finding family.
[Had the phenomenon stretched as far as other communities? Would their grand-mere and grand-pere even believe them if they showed up on their doorstep in France? When, by calculations, their maman was only a toddler?]
I might've started crying. [ no, no he definitely would not have. even at that age, louis had been self-sufficient. still, it would have been pretty overwhelming, especially considering what they know of how different things are here.

[ his glance flicks out toward the rest of the alley, uncertain beneath his usual cool indifference. ] It may be safest if we surround ourselves with family.

[There was some tension that melted when he grabbed her hand, tension Vic didn't realize she was holding until just then. Having family around helped more than she realized when she first arrived. Especially for them...
If this reality was bad enough with muggleborns and half bloods...
She squeezes his hand and nods her head.]
We'll check the Burrow and... perhaps Uncle Harry's parents are around?

the hopeful question earns a small frown again. ] I don't know. With how screwed up things are here, I'm not sure if it's even a good idea to hope for it. What if they're as wicked as the Minister? The Burrow, though, definitely. [ he glances toward her again, a little worried. ] --Have you registered yet?
