"You still play, actually, when you get the chance. And taught me-or at least started teaching me." By the time she was on the team, what she needed to learn was beyond what Bill really had the time for-and quite possibly what he knew, at that point-but he'd still keep practicing with her on occasion over the summer break. It was weird to be recapping stuff that in her mind he already knew to her dad, but seeing the way his smile lit up at sharing a position was well worth it.
