it's the summer holidays! a perfect time to travel, relax, spend time with loved ones and bask in the sun. the wizarding world is lively with energy at this time of year. everyone seems to want to make the most of their break before september comes around the corner and life returns to its normal, mundane pace. it has been especially exciting with the sporadic and strange appearances of old and new faces. some claim to be from a different world while others claim to be from a different time. then, there are the ones who have simply found themselves waking up to be remarkably younger or older. just remember to keep to your curfews, half-bloods and muggle-borns! those eerie disappearances are still happening in an increasingly alarming rate...
MINISTRY OF MAGIC

[ He tucks the journal away and hurries through the halls of the bank, stopping by his boss' office to feed him an excuse about a family emergency (well, it sort of is one) before heading out through the lobby to the outside. His heart is racing, and he realizes belatedly he's not even sure he'll recognize Louis when he sees him. Aside from being blond, he has no idea what his own son might look like. ]

still, his expression brightens, boyish and almost sheepish, as he shifts on his feet. he'd like to hug his dad, but he's not really sure if the other man would be okay with it. ]
That was quick. [ his accent's definitely got a french hint to it; all three kids probably speak it fluently with their mother and her family. ] I didn't know you were already working.

Which is why it takes him a moment to realize Louis has said something. He blinks, coming out of his thoughts rapidly, and smiles, going in for an awkward hug. (He's not about to just not hug his own son, okay?) When he pulls away, he leaves a hand on Louis' shoulder. ] Sorry, hi. Yes. I am. They haven't given me my old job back, as their records show I'm meant to be ten years old, so it's just some filing for now, but it's a job.
[ He makes a face. ] Let's not talk about work. Work is boring. Tell me about you! I want to know everything.

when they part, he laughs at the rambling and then the cheerful demand, raking a hand back through his hair. ] Uhh, well, that might take some time. You want to find somewhere a little quieter to talk?

.. Dad, do you know what it's going to mean for us here? I mean, Victoire and Dom and I. [ if and when dom shows up. ] If the Ministry's acting this way with half-bloods and muggle-borns.. [ how much worse will they be with people they don't even consider human? ] I just.. don't know what I should be expecting.

He needs to give Louis some kind of answer, some shred of reassurance, but he's so unsure himself. ]
I don't know, honestly. I haven't been here too long just yet, I'm still learning all the ways this place is different than how I know it should be. But I promise you, [ He stops walking, places a hand on Louis' arm to stop him as well, and looks him dead in the eyes. ] I won't let anything happen to you. Do you hear me? I may not be the father who knows you, but I'm still your father, and I won't let anyone try to harm you.
[ That point made, he lets go of Louis' arm and continues moving through the crowd towards the Leaky Cauldron. ]
Just... try to keep a low profile for now, until we get a better sense of things.
